Our WeddingFinal List of AttendeesIDENTITIES AND INTERESTS: The final list of people who attended our wedding and what they're about. Now why did we do this?Okay, let's face it. Our marriage won't be legally recognized by Washington or any other state in this great nation of liberty and justice for all. So what's the point? If you support the idea that same-sex couples ought to have the rights and benefits of legal marriage, one place you can visit to find out more is Gay-Civil-Unions.com. Our plans for the weekWe are planning to enjoy several activities in and around Seattle during the weekend of June 28-30. Please join us for any or all of them! We are also planning to take longer excursions into the scenic wonder that is Washington State during the following week, with you, we hope! Here's a look at our schedule for the week. Gifts and charitable donationsWe are honored with your presence and your friendship. As much as this is a celebration of our commitment to each other, the ceremony is also about sharing our commitment with our community. So rather than engage in gift exchanging, we want to give back to the community. Traditionally, weddings have been overflowing with gift giving to help the newly-married couple (young and just beginning their careers, and therefore with little disposable income) establish their new household. Our shelves are full, our minds are fruitful, our stomachs are satiated, we have a beautiful roof over our heads, our health fairly good, and what we would want materially is nothing we can't buy or save up for. So we ask for your help in creating a greater gift to the community. We can think of no better gift than giving through volunteering and donating to one of our favorite charitable and/or activist organizations. |
