Hotels and Motels in the Area

Below, you will find an annotated list of some hotels/motels in the area. Please note that these are just our suggestions, not a comprehensive list.

Please call these hotels. We've heard reports that the prices may actually be lower than the ones we've listed here.

If you want to spend between $50-$60:

Sea-Tac Skyway Inn
20045 International Blvd
206-878-3310
Near Sea-Tac airport. Rooms with two queen beds are about $50.00 plus tax. This motel is a 15-minute drive to the Seattle Aquarium and other points downtown, and a 20-minute drive to our home.

Marco Polo Motel
4114 Aurora Ave. N. 206-633-4090
Two-bed rooms are $54 plus tax. This motel is about half a mile from our home, and a 5-minute drive to downtown. The motel is safe, the rooms are clean, but the surroundings are sketchy.

If you want to spend between $60-$70:

There are many hotels close to Sea-Tac airport that are reasonable. If you stay at any of these hotels, you will be a 15-minute drive from the Seattle Aquarium and other points downtown, and a 20-minute drive to our home. All of these hotels have all the charm associated with hotels near airports (which is to say, none at all).

We checked out Red Roof Inn:
16838 Pacific Hwy S.
206-248-0901
Their rooms look good. They have a common microwave and refrigerator that guests can use. Their summertime rate for a room with two queen beds is $59.99 plus tax.

Comparable hotels with comparable rates in the same area are:

Sea-Tac Crest Motor Inn
18845 Pacific Hwy S.
206-433-0999

Sleep Inn
20406 International Blvd. S.
206-878-3600

Ramada Inn
16720 International Blvd.
206-277-0700

Econo Lodge
19225 International Blvd.
206-824-1350

Travelodge
2900 S. 192nd
206-241-9292

If you want to spend between $90-$130:

Our suggestion would be to stay at one of several hotels near the Seattle Center. These are all within easy walking distance of Seattle Center (home to the Space Needle, Pacific Science Center, Experience Music Project, Key Arena, Seattle Opera House, Seattle Repertory Theater, and various other venues), a minute to downtown, easy bus rides to everywhere, and a 5-minute drive (or bus ride) to our home.

Comfort Suites ($89-$130)
601 Roy St.
206-282-2600
Nice-sized rooms, refrigerator and microwave in each room, complimentary garage parking.

Inn at Queen Anne ($99)
505 1st Ave. N.
800-952-5043
206-282-7357
Charming, lovely building. Rooms are kind of small, but all have kitchenettes. One thing to beware: we went into what they labeled a "non-smoking room," but clearly, there had been some smoking going on. Still, this is where we would stay . . . if we didn't already live here.

Seattle Travelodge ($109-$129)
200 6th Ave. N.
206-441-7878
Common microwave and refrigerator that guests may use. Less appealing than the others above, but perfectly fine.

If you want to break the bank:

Edgewater Inn
This hotel is a couple steps away from the Seattle Aquarium, on Pier 67 (the aquarium is on Pier 59). It's close to EVERYTHING. Many of the rooms overlook Elliott Bay; in fact, it's the only hotel on the Bay. It's really damn cool. Rooms start at $199. But hey, you only live once.
