ed: a page about
my favorite things

TRAVEL
I love to travel, and have been fortunate enough to visit some of the world's most ancient and impressive places. Take a look at my photo journals of each trip:
Few and far between are places in the world that can so effectively convey how brief our time on Earth really is. I want to get to as many as I can. As it happens, only some pictures from these trips have been scanned ... but more will come.

SCIENCE FICTION AND FANTASY LIT AND FLICKS
Science fiction and fantasy changed my life. Sound like an exaggeration? It's true for me, both personally and professionally. Red Planet compiles some of my favorite SF and fantasy sites on the web, along with a little free advertising for friends who are writers and artists in the business.

MUSIC
Music is also very important to me. Almost all my favorite artists have sites on the web.

GENEALOGY
Since,oh, August of 2000 or so, I've been tracking down the family history. I haven't gotten nearly as much done as I'd like, but my Bloodlines page will show you how far I've gotten.

PENNIES OF THE FLATTENED KIND
Back in the mists of time when I was just a kid, someone gifted me with a penny that had been flattened and imprinted with the Lord's Prayer on it. It seemed a miracle to me at the time. Now, I'm a serious smashed penny collector ("elongated coins" to the smashed-penny connoisseur), and am even an active member in the hobby's official club, The Elongated Collectors. I've also written some articles on the subject.

CATS
Cats have been my lifelong companions. One of these years, pictures of my current roommates will join my online gallery. Flatbush, Merlin, and Spanky have insisted on proper representation in my virtual home. They're very territorial, even about my Web site.

If this isn't enough information about who I am, click through some of the more obscurely titled links down below. I suspect you'll learn all you need to know from there....
