Scarlett Letters

Why "House of Scarlett?" When I was eleven years old, my mother took me to see a matinee of the re-release of Gone with the Wind: Scarlett, Rhett, Tara, the Civil War, passion, poverty, death, and hope.

I was never the same.

Years later, when I was introduced to the wonders of computer bulletin boards, I could think of no more perfect a handle than "Scarlett." She was tough, smart, brave ... foolish, stubborn, and resourceful, just like me. Somehow, the name perfectly suited my predilections. Online, I've been Scarlett ever since.

In the meanwhile, if you don't know who I am, take a look around; you'll get an idea. I'm a writer, an editor, a traveler, a crafter (jewelry, collage, drawing, decoupage), a cat lover, a genealogist, and a collector of smashed pennies and other things too odd to mention here. (For example, if I mention that I collect hands you'd be deeply disturbed...until I told you that they're all porcelain. See what I mean?)

And, in case you were wondering, my favorite color is RED.
