Egypt: a photo journal

In 1997 I took the trip I'd been waiting a lifetime to take: I went to Egypt for two-and-a-half weeks. What follows herewith are excerpts from my trip journal accompanied by photos from the trip.

October 6, 1997 Cairo: Cairo Museum
In one day, we went to see the Cairo Museum, the Pyramids, the Sphinx, and a papyrus gallery. Hard to believe that I visited these places I've wanted to see for so long--we just whipped in and out. We had a guided tour through the museum, and then 40 minutes to wander by ourselves. Of course, I ended up being the last person on the bus; I got all absorbed in the Akhnaten room (of course) and the hall of mummies.
