WINTER RIM DESK TRAINING ON NOVEMBER 22
by Greg Reddell

While Chuck Drayton and I were waiting for the Steele Information Center to open it was such a pretty morning I couldn't resist taking another picture.

The fresh snow and icicles on the Steel Center and trees were so dazzling I have used that to wish the Friends Seasonal Greetings. The Saturday of the Winter Rim Desk Training was a pretty day at Crater Lake and Chuck and I didn't mind the brief wait.

The Restaurant and Gift Shop is open again at the Rim Village and Crater Lake National Park will need assistance providing information to winter visitors.

For a number of years the Friends have provided winter visitor contact at the Restaurant Building on weekends and holidays. Friend Larry Smith has led weekend snowshoe hikes for quite a few years in addition to the Winter Rim Desk.
