China Well, I've finally gotten around to writing up the travelog for this -- only about a year late and still isn't complete. In any event, in the fall of 1999, my parents and I took a three-week trip throughout China. Although I'm Chinese (American-born), I had never been to China before, nor do I speak the language. As such, I figured this was my best chance to see China with people who could (and would) translate for me. In preparation for the trip, I spent a bundle of cash and bought a digital camera (a Nikon Coolpix 950, which works very well, I'm happy to say -- a technical review of this marvel will be added to the Bibliotech eventually) and a bunch of memory cards so that I wouldn't have to worry about running out of 'film'. In the end, this was a fascinating trip but it also proved that I am a spoiled and decadent Westerner! Where's Waldo?
