Christopher Walken
I love Christopher Walken -- he is so deliciously creepy! He out-creeps Jack Nicholson and Dennis Hopper, as far as I'm concerned. The first movie that I think I saw CW in was The Dead Zone. Given that this was a David Cronenberg film, it was that much more surreal! Later, I saw The Deer Hunter, a dramatic film about Vietnam vets and their friends/family at home. Walken's performance in this movie was incredible. Yet, despite this, I still tend to associate Walken with "disturbing" roles. That he often plays the villain (and usually plays them very well) only helps to enforce this image of him in my mind. Another film worthy of note is The Addiction. This is a fantastic movie in which Walken plays a vampire "mentoring" a newly bit Lili Taylor. The movie is filmed in black & white and has a great modern gothic feel to it, reminiscent of the Nosferatu movie (and remakes), as opposed to the newer, slicker vampire movies (e.g., The Lostboys, Interview with the Vampire, etc.). And lastly, he also starred in the cult favorite The Prophecy as a pissed off Archangel Gabriel. Despite a good performance by Eric Stoltz as Simon and a great performance by Viggo Mortensen as Lucifer, I think Walken carried this movie, in the same way that Jack Nicholson carried Batman. Movies that Walken has been in include:
