What's in Yarrow House? Signe
Hanson Court
St. Press |
Yarrow House started as a memorial to my grandmother, Signe Fries Hanson. Then I decided to add Court Street Press (my little publishing company) to the site and advertise my latest book of poems, Borderlands. Court Street Press publishes poetry and books on local community action. I've also produced the autobiography of Pete Hawley, Born Cree: Peter Hawley of Sitting Horse Drum. (Have you ever wondered about the story of some guy you've seen on the street? Pete tells his story, from a Montana reservation to respected elder in the pow wow circuit, via the streets of Seattle.) And of course, one thing leading to another, I went on to start an art gallery, with some of my travel color studies, and a reading room, with a collection of some of my other poems and short stories. Drop me a line. I'd like to hear your comments and questions. |

We
often think that when we have completed the study of one, we know all
about two, because "two" is "one and one." We forget that we have still
to make a study of "and."
