"Coleman E. "Colie" King, 57, of 643 S. 5th St. W. died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, apparently of a massive heart attack, while jogging near Ram Field on Missoula's South Side. Missoula County Coroner John Malletta said Mr. King was found by passersby near the field about 2:45pm. He was dead when police arrived at the scene a few minutes later. According to Malletta, exercising at the field was a daily routine for Mr. King, and he had gone there around noon to jog. Terming his death 'very sudden and unexpected,' the coroner said Mr. King had not been under a doctor's care at the time of his death. An autopsy is pending. A native of Seattle, born Nov. 1, 1918, Mr. King attended Seattle schools and came to Missoula in 1943 to train with Army Air Corps cadets. He later served with the Eighth Air Force in England. Mr. King and the former Evelyn Mayer of Pablo were married in 1944 in Tacoma, Wash., and they had resided in Missoula since then. Mr. King was a salesman for Mountain Press Publishing Co. for many years. Earlier he had been employed by The Missoulian in its commercial printing department. He was a past president of Missoula Toastmasters. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Loren (Karen) Haarr, Kalispell; Sally, Seattle, and Collette, Dillon; two sons, Pat, Missoula, and Tony, Livingston; four sisters, including Mrs. Joseph Murphy and Mrs. Victor Carpenter, Seattle, and Mrs. Floyd Sherbondy, Morton, Wash., and a grandson.
