I'm
ridiculously enamored of this snow applet. I don't even know what I'm going
to put on this page. Maybe a story, maybe some ramblings. Something to
justify putting this really cool thing on my site. For now, I'll just blather
about the coolness of the item itself. I got this from spigots.com,
a respectable looking site that I took a chance on. I don't usually download
stuff from the web without knowing much about the source, but I was really
impressed with this website. On the main page are links to all kinds of
cool java, um, spigots, I guess. This particular one grabbed my attention.
He has a "Snow Wizard" that makes downloading the "class" file (that makes
the applet work) stunningly easy. If you decide you want to try it, but
are a bit nervous, I recommend making a relatively blank page in Composer
or FrontPage first, and making sure you have the image ready that you want
to use. (You get to use your own, even! I just borrowed his because it's
so damn pretty.) Then just walk through the steps and when you're done,
upload them to your site. You have to upload the class file in binary format
and make sure you have all the files in the same directory. That's all
there is to it.
Anyhow, I think some nice wintry musings need to go here at some point....
For now, go home.

Here's David's
logo--he's the fellow who made the Snow applet. If you'd like to visit
his site, his URL again is: http://www.spigots.com/spigots.htm.
