Mulder: "I'm grumpy today, so don't even try to talk to me..."
Alex: [gives him THE LOOK]
Mulder: "And don't try to flatter me or give me chocolate cake to make me feel better."
Alex: "And I guess I shouldn't scratch you behind the ears until you have little leg spasms."
Mulder: "Right. None of that."
And now we deviate from our previously scheduled program and watch with approving pleasure as both men, who have been exchanging long smoldering looks, suddenly smile at one another. Alex tells Mulder to stay in bed this Monday morning, which Mulder does, after calling Skinner to say he's come down with a Mysterious (but Temporary) Illness. He lies in voluptuous nakedness between the sheets, while Alex goes out to the corner deli and brings back big hot gourmet coffees and some chocolate cake, and cheesecake, and eclairs. 'Breakfast?' Mulder says, eyeing the trays in fascination, as he snuggles deeper back into the bed. 'It's a Monday--these are for medicinal purposes,' Alex answers. And then he gets naked again, slash be praised, and cuddles in the bed, and they watch daytime television together until they can take it no more and then of course they rub their buff, lovely bodies together and live happily ever after.
