How do I use the Salon?

If you have a shell-only account, you'll need to use your terminal program to dial up and access the Salon.

If you are making a Telnet or SSH connection without dialing in, you need to go to the following domain:

drizzle.com

If you have a PPP account, you can use a PPP Telnet or SSH client to access the Salon. If you don't already have a client, check out our list of freeware/shareware suggestions for Windows or Macintosh.

Once the connection to drizzle.com is established, you will see the following message:

Type "shell" to enter the UNIX shell
Otherwise, just hit <RETURN> to enter the Salon:

Hit <RETURN> and voila! You're at the Salon's main menu. You can type "?" to see a list of helpful commands, including "guide." The "guide" command brings up the Drizzle New User Guide, which tells you how to begin using the Salon.

There is also a Web-based guide to commands you can use in the Salon. Check out our Big Drizzle Guide!
