High-Speed Dedicated DSL

DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) Service is the new, hyper-fast, "always-on" way to access the Internet.

You can surf the web, view streaming video, and download large files without waiting for your slow modem to catch up. You can also network your computers at home or in your office so that they all use the same DSL connection.

DSL Service runs over the same wires as telephone lines, but the wires in your home or office need to be specially configured by a DSL Service Partner before they can carry a DSL signal. Once the lines are ready, Drizzle can set up your dedicated circuit, and your zippy service can begin.

Currently, Drizzle uses Qwest as our DSL Service Partner.

Qwest can add DSL service to existing lines in your home or office, allowing you to use your Internet service and your telephone simultaneously on the same line. Drizzle (in partnership with Qwest) offers two levels of DSL service: 256k (both upload and download), and DSL Deluxe (with download speeds of up to 1.5M).

Your DSL connection to Drizzle will be a bridged connection with one static IP address included, which is all MOST users will require.

Qwest DSL is available in the following areas in Washington: Auburn, Bainbridge Island, Bellevue, Bellingham, Bremerton, Des Moines, Federal Way, Issaquah, Kent, Lacey, Mercer Island, Olympia, Puyallup, Renton, Seattle, and Tacoma. If your town is not listed, e-mail us and we'll find out why.

To get DSL service from Drizzle over a Qwest line, three things must be true: 1) Qwest must be your local telephone company, 2) Qwest must have DSL services installed in your area, and 3) your physical location must be within roughly 2.5 miles of the nearest Qwest Central Office.

We provide ISP services over Qwest DSL lines for BOTH Business and Residential customers; however, Qwest does not provide a method for us to check the availability of DSL service over Business phone lines.
