Bonny Heather and her Eleven Grand-Kittens

Okay here we go. This is the tale tail of Bonny Heather and her Eleven Grand-Kittens.

Our story begins about 9 weeks before May 13 and 14. Somehow one of the male kitties in our neighborhood wooed my two poor helpless little kitties. When I came home on Easter weekend I was out in the garage cuddling with my babies when I noticed something. I went inside and said, "Mom, Chloe's pregnant." She said, "Oh no." She loves kittens, but she had vowed to get Chloe spayed before she got pregnant. Unfortunately, we didn't get to it in time.

Anyways, I went back out into the garage to cuddle with Butterscotch, who we call Scotch for short. I then returned to the house and proceeded with, "Mom, my boy-kitty's pregnant too." My mom just looked at me like I was really strange. See, when we got Scotch we were told she was a boy. It's hard to tell on kittens so I assumed she was and didn't question it. Besides, as she grew she acted just like my previous boy cat, who was quite the tom (until we got him neutered that is... he pouted for 3 weeks). Anyway, we were all quite shocked.

These are pictures of Scotch and Chloe.

I went back to school, knowing that my kitties and future grand-kitties were in my mom's capable hands. Well, when I called my parents on May 13 I asked them how the kitties were doing. My mom told me that Scotch had had six kittens that day! All of them are orange and white like her. Chloe helped with the cleaning and nursing. My mom said that when Scotch had one Chloe would take it and clean it then nurse it. She thinks that may be why Chloe delivered the next day, on May 14. She had 5 of her own and all of them were littler than Scotch's. Chloe is little to start with though, so they may not have been premature, we're not sure. Anyway, they were all healthy so we didn't worry. She had 3 orange and white ones like Scotch and 2 grey tabbies.

Here's Chloe and Scotch and all 11 babies together. Can you find all 11?

I only got to spend a few days with them while they were three weeks old, so I made the best of it and snuggled as much as I could while I was with them.

No, that is NOT my big hair in the first picture, there's a picture frame hanging on the wall behind me.

My brother helped me with the photography.

This is my brother, Nathan.

This must be one of the pictures he took.

These are a few more pictures he took of me and the kittens. Can you tell he caught me off-guard? I really was asleep in the first picture. I had just woken up right before he took the second picture.

This is me with my favorite of the kittens. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep him because I was going to be in an apartment for the summer, and in the fall I'll be in the dorm at school. My aunt and uncle who live really close to my parents took him and named him Taz. My aunt is going to scan a couple of their pictures of him soon and I'll get them up here when I get them. I'll get to see him when I go back home for a few days at the end of the summer. I had either just woken up or just blinked when this picture was taken.

This is me with Chloe's other tabby kitten.

Here are some pictures of all the kittens together without the mommies.

All 11 kitties and their mommies again.

This is my favorite picture of all the kitties. They're a bit older here, my mom took this picture after I left. I would guess they're about five or six weeks old here.
