A note from Betty's very purroud owner: Soooooooooooooo.........you like my Betty???? Now you know why we had to keep her, huh??? Yes, of course....you put my Betty in your website...She will be so proud!!!! She truly is a sweet baby...we have the little problem of getting on the counters...I don't like that at all!! I hope that she will soon learn that is a no-no. What do you think of those eyes??? I told you she was gorgeous...
She still like to "suck" on my shirt...like she is going to get anything out of it. I don't mind the sucking/biting thing...it is the claws being dug into my skin that bothers me...
My friend Kathie says she is more dog like than cat like. Very personal, wanting to be in the middle of everything. She still likes to take a bath, with me, not the boys...She eats everything from raw chicken to granola bars, to cooked rice and soy sauce. She likes canned cat food..the gravy with sliced meat not the mashed up stuff...Not one bit picky though...she just has her preferences. She doesn't like to dog very well...she likes to torment her very much..Anyway, she is up here on the computer watching me type to you. Yes..... I love her!!!! She loves to sleep under the covers with us...AMAZING!!!!!!

Rosebud loves the Colorado snow. She is very smart & has been a welcome addition to her family since coming to live with them in July 2001. Her "daddy" said, "I know you like cats but if you look at this puppy's face you gotta love it."

Sooka, a collie/greyhound mix, is 11 years old this week. She takes my socks off when I ask her to, but doesn t put them in the hamper. She knows all her toys by name and will fetch them out of an embarrassingly large, and over-flowing, basket. She is too smart for my own good, smells great, is soft like a bunny and will come over and apologize when I discover she has dug through a waste basket looking for tissues to tear and chew up. And when I throw tennis balls? She knows trajectory, speed and whatever other physics calculations necessary to NEVER miss! Finally, when I tell her to get in the bathtub, she does. With a 60-lb. animal, cooperation in this regard is essential.

Her name, Sooka, means bitch in Russian, sock in Finnish, to run fast in Iñupiaq Eskimo, sugar in Italian, dry in Hindi, booby prize in Japanese and in Tagalog, the language of the Philippines, it means to vomit. We were doing okay until we got to Philippines. I grew up with cats and love them, but I became allergic to their dander in my early adult years. Sooka is my first dog and it was awful to train her. I didn't know what I was doing! But she is a great dog (if a little jealous of our new housemate, a sun conure named Maui,) a wonderful, talkative companion, a loyal protector and a beautiful thing - Natalie in Alaska

Kitts is a New York kitty, but don't tell anyone she's really a pussycat. She doesn't *meow* she *clacks* pretending to be tuff but we know better!

Kitts went to kitty heaven in 12/2000, but we love her so much we left her here too. You can see her tribute on the r.i.p. page by clicking the link below.

This is Princess! Isn't she adorable?
Rosie lives with Mary Ann and Rae. They feed the squirrels in their backyard and Rosie the kitten started stealing from the squirrels. One day Rae and Mary Ann left their door open and Rosie took up residence by making herself at home on Rae's lap. Smart kitty.

Beth Mansfield adopted Maura after she had heard about the pixie-bob breed and asked about it when she was in getting her persian "Smokey" lion cut. Beth found out that there was a breeder fairly close, one thing led to another.......and the rest is purrrstory.

Amber is 9 years old almost...but still acts like a puppy
when she meets new people. She's a pure yellow lab. Comes when called when she feels like it, loves hikes and swimming and anything out doors. Loves to cuddle on the couch on Saturday nights to watch MST3K...but not anymore since I moved out....I miss her. -- Kevin LaFleur

Anyone can tell that Cookie (above) and her son Cody (left) are handsome doggies, but do they like kitties?

I share my home in Michigan with a glorious British Shorthair named Bentley. Bentley was born 3/25/97 at the Big Meow Cattery in Lithonia, GA, near Atlanta. He was one of 7 kittens. He made the trip up to Michigan with one of his brothers in a pickup truck at the age of 12 weeks. I drove over to the other side of the state to pick him up, so he then had a long ride back over here. Perhaps that's why he doesn't mind traveling in the car.

Bentley now weighs 13 pounds and is very fluffy. He doesn't meow much, which is typical of his breed, but he has one of the loudest purrrrrrs I've ever heard. He likes to follow me around the apartment and keep an eye on what I'm doing, especially if I'm in the kitchen. His favorite food is sliced turkey in gravy (the cat food version, not the real thing, though he'd no doubt love that, too!) and his favorite toys are his sheep-mouse and Cat Dancer. He's not too keen on sleeping on soft surfaces; he much prefers the coffee table, the kitchen floor or the bathroom sink.

So far there hasn't been one person who's met Bentley who hasn't become an admirer. Many non-cat people have become his friends, and even some who are allergic to cats are willing to risk the sneezes and watery eyes to give him a few pats. -- Rée
