Yes, I'm an X-phile -- The X-Files is one of the few shows that I watch regularly. I enjoy the quirkiness of the show, the quality of the stories, and the interactions between the main characters, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully (and Walter Skinner). I also find Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny to be attractive people and enjoy watching them perform.
Interestingly though, I did not get into The X-Files right away. When the show first aired, I actively avoided it. This was because Fox (the network on which the show airs) had also just released a bunch of "believe-it-or-not" type shows (like "Beyond Belief", etc.) at the same time. Also, I was dubious about how far the "alien colonization" idea could be taken.
I finally broke down and watched an episode, probably around the middle of the third or fourth season. I was pleasantly surprised. The writing was actually much better than I expected, and the "mythology" was intriguing. And I enjoyed the depth of the main characters: they are more than just cardboard cut-outs like many characters are in other TV dramas or sitcoms.
Since then, I've watched the show religiously. But, there are still a number of episodes that I haven't seen yet. My favorite episode, for the record, is probably Jose Chung's "From Outer Space. Anyone who would cast (Governor Elect) Jesse 'The Body' Ventura as a Man in Black is out of their blankety-blankin' mind -- I love it!
The movie was also pretty good, but I think it really only appeals to X-Files fans (like the Star Trek movies appeal to Star Trek fans).
